Alarm Clock with Snooze
This is another way to implement an Alarm Clock utility using Tasker. It includes a pop up with buttons allowing you to snooze or cancel the alarm, optionally opening an application (i.e. notes)
List of Features:
- Set any sounds file from the SD card as the alarm
- Easy UI with snooze and cancel buttons
- Includes a specified volume for the alarm
- No additional application necessary
To achieve this we need 1 profile consisting of 1 context and 1 task, this also utilises 2 additional tasks so in total we will be creating 3 tasks.
The profiles are:
- Alarm time with alarm task
The tasks are:
- Alarm … To sound the clock
- Snooze … To snooze the alarm
- Cancel … To end the alarm
STEP 1 … Create 'Cancel' task
- Go to tasks and create a new one named 'Cancel'
- Action 1 … Music Stop
- Action 2 … (OPTIONAL) Load App
- Action 3 … Notify 'Alarm Off'
- Action 4 … Notify Cancel 'Alarm Off'
STEP 2 … Create 'Snooze' task
- Action 1 … Music Stop
- Action 2 … Notify 'Alarm Snoozed'
- Action 3 … Notify Cancel 'Alarm Snoozed'
- Action 4 … Wait '# minutes and/or seconds'
- Action 5 … Perform Task 'Alarm'
STEP 3 … Create profile and 'Alarm' task
- Make a time context for when you want the alarm to be active 'i.e. 06:30 to 07:00'
- Make a new task 'Alarm'
- Action 1 … Media Volume '# between 0 & 15'
- Action 2 … Music Play 'Audio File off SD Card of your choice'
- Action 3 … Popup Task Names, Text 'Alarm Options', Task 1 'Snooze', Task 2 'Cancel', 'Centre Text'
STEP 4 … Finalise
- Apply the changes
- Go back into Tasker and test if you wish
Well thats what I came up with, I hope it all works!
